Boat Show

The whole time I was working on these I kept singing, "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming.  What do we do?  We swim, swim, swim."  (In case you missed it, that was a reference to "Finding Nemo".)

From what my customers told me, these columns were the talk of the boat show.  People couldn't get over the divers and the two octopuses...octopi...(shoot, I don't know).  Anyway, these were fun!

Fairy

I found these huge mushrooms in my backyard the other day.  It wasn't long before this little lady came and plopped right down for a nap!

Birthdays and Beauties

My little girl's friend invited her to a birthday party.  I asked my daughter what she wanted to give to the little girl.  She told me she wanted a little girl made out of balloons holding balloons that said "Happy Birthday".  So here is the lovely little birthday beauty with her balloon holding balloons.

Another friend had a birthday too.  She got flowers!

You've got to love birthdays!

Fun Stuff!

One of my good friends has been sick for longer than any of us care to admit!  It's felt like forever!  She finally got home from the hospital and I made her this.  The card read, "We hope you keep "flying high".  Keep getting better!"  She loved it.  I love that she's out of the hospital!

A friend taught me how to can tomatoes.  As a thank you I did this little under-the-sea bouquet.  It was a great day!

Doctor

Old Doc Carver was a family practitioner who still made house calls. One afternoon he was called to the Tuttle house. Mrs. Tuttle was in terrible pain. The doctor came out of the bed- room a minute after he'd gone in and asked Mr. Tuttle, "Do you have a hammer?"

A puzzled Mr. Tuttle went to the garage, and returned with a hammer. The doctor thanked him and went back into the bedroom. A moment later, he came out and asked, "Do you have a chisel?" Mr. Tuttle complied with the request.

In the next ten minutes, Dr. Carver asked for and received a pair of pliers, a screwdriver and a hacksaw. The last request got to Mr. Tuttle. He asked, "What are you doing to my wife?"

"Not a thing," replied old doc Carver. "I can't get my instrument bag open."

I thought that joke was appropriate for this balloon I made.   What should you do for a 40th b-day party for a doctor?  What else besides an old doctor using a walker (ear hair and all!)

Skiing

There are really only three things to learn in skiing: how to put on your skis, how to slide downhill, and how to walk along the hospital corridor. ~Lord Mancroft, A Chinaman in the Bath, 1974

This design started with the hat.  I loved the hat, and had to make something to go with it!  A skier seemed like the perfect fit!

Just for your information, I grew up an hour and a half from Gatlinburg, TN.  I went to college in Utah.  In full disclosure, I have never been skiing in my entire life!
